 Toronto, Canada: January 1, 2015- World Parkinson's Program announced to start Parkinson's Education Campaign in Eastern and South-eastern  Asian  Countries including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, East Timor, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand,  Vietnam and other regional countries  in the month of January 2015. Parkinson's disease affects all races and is present in every part of the world.  Several million individuals are struggling with Parkinson’s disease in Eastern and Southeast Asian countries.  Promoting education about Parkinson's disease is the primary goal of World Parkinson's Program, which is why special programs in various languages including Chinese, English Vietnamese and many other languages have been developed by the World Parkinson's Program. World Parkinson's Program starts Parkinson's Education Clubs around the World - A landmark in the history of Parkinson's.

TORONTO (Canada). November 1, 2014. World Parkinson’s Program announces starting Parkinson’s Education Clubs in the underdeveloped countries and other parts of the world. Parkinson’s disease is a chronic disabling neurological condition which affects more than six million individuals around the World. Parkinson’s disease occurs in all geographical regions around the globe and affects all races.   Receiving a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and dealing with long-term disability caused by Parkinson’s can be quite overwhelming and distressful. With the help of Parkinson’s Education Clubs, patients will get a chance to talk about their life experiences and ways of coping with day-to-day difficulties with other individuals who may have a similar experience.

 World Parkinson’s Program will provide educational lectures, brochures and CDs as well as informational literature on the various aspects of Parkinson’s in the local languages. Currently the educational literature of World Parkinson’s Program about Parkinson’s disease is available in thirteen languages. This informational material will be used for educational purpose during the club meetings. The World Parkinson’s Program aims to establish its educational clubs in all major cities around the world. World Parkinson’s Program is the first global organization to initiate the Parkinson’s Education Clubs with a similar theme in all parts of world. This will be a major breakthrough in the history of Parkinson’s disease at the global level.

A Parkinson’s Education Club can be started by any healthcare worker or institution, Parkinson’s volunteer or student who has a passion for making a difference in the lives of those affected with Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s Education Clubs will provide a platform for the Parkinson’s patients, caregivers and the community to share, discuss and find ways to cope with Parkinson’s disease.  

The participants of meeting of Parkinson’s Education Club will benefit from the mutual support from their peers and there will be opportunities to help others from one’s own personal experience about the Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson's Education Campaign in Saudi Arabia and Asian Arab Countries - September 2014

August 2014. Parkinson's disease affects every race and is present in every part of the world. World Parkinson's Program conducts Parkinson's Education Campaigns in various regions, countries, and continents around the year. Usually each month a different region is selected for this campaign. In September 2014, World Parkinson's Program will be running a Parkinson's Education Campaign in Saudi Arabia and other Asian Arab Countries. Parkinson's disease is estimated to affect about 50 thousand individuals in Saudi Arabia.  Proper knowledge about Parkinson’s disease in patients and caretakers is the key to ensuring that patients can cope effectively and manage their day to day activities. A lack of awareness of the disease in patients can result in a lack of confidence, and increased confusion or anxiety, leading to a poor quality of life.  Promoting education about Parkinson's disease is the primary goal of World Parkinson's Program, which is why a special program for Arabic speaking individuals has been developed by us. Book Release “Natural Therapies for Parkinson’s disease”

 

VICTORIA, B.C. (Canada), February 2014.The book, “Natural therapies for Parkinson’s disease” has been published and is finally available for sale in the market through all major booksellers such Amazon and others.

 In addition to many successful pharmacological agents which are the mainstay of treatment, there are many natural methods and non-pharmacological strategies which, if supplemented with the pharmacological treatments of Parkinson’s disease, could improve the quality of life of patients. This guide briefly discusses such strategies. The author of this book, Abdul Qayyum Rana, when asked about his inspiration to write this book, replied, “I always find patients curious to know if there are any non-pharmacological methods which may be helpful in the treatment of Parkinson’s. Indeed my inspiration to write this handbook came from repeated questioning of my patients on this topic”.
